D. as強(qiáng)調(diào)主句和從句的動(dòng)作同時(shí)發(fā)生,，常譯作“一邊……一邊……”,。 He swung his stick in the air as he walked. E. when可以表示突然性的動(dòng)作 I was walking in the street when I caught sight of an old friend. F. while可以表示對(duì)比及讓步 I like coffee while he enjoys tea. While we sometimes disagree, we remain good friends. G. before的三個(gè)句型 It will be years before we meet again. 我們要過(guò)幾年才能再見(jiàn)面,。（強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間較長(zhǎng)） It won’t be long before we meet again. 過(guò)不了多久我們就會(huì)再見(jiàn)面的,。（強(qiáng)調(diào)時(shí)間較短） He ran away before I could say a word. 我還沒(méi)來(lái)得及說(shuō)話，他就跑了,。 H. since的兩個(gè)句型 since后如果是終止性動(dòng)詞的過(guò)去式,，則時(shí)間的起點(diǎn)應(yīng)從該動(dòng)作發(fā)生時(shí)算起。 since后如果是延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞的過(guò)去式,，則時(shí)間的起點(diǎn)應(yīng)從該動(dòng)作發(fā)生結(jié)束時(shí)算起,。 I haven’t seen him since he left. 自從他離開(kāi)后，我就沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)他,。 It is two years since he lived here. 他不住在這里有兩年了,。 I. 在肯定句中until搭配延續(xù)動(dòng)詞，在否定句中搭配瞬間動(dòng)詞 The shop stays open until 11. I won’t leave until you come back. 3. 地點(diǎn)狀語(yǔ)從句 He found the book where he had lost it. You are free to go wherever you like. 4. 原因狀語(yǔ)從句 A. because用來(lái)回答why 的問(wèn)題,，語(yǔ)氣最強(qiáng) I came back late yesterday because I was on duty. B. as, since, now that表示已知的理由 Since everyone is here, let’s begin our meeting. C. for可以表示推斷,，必須放在主句后 He must be asleep, for there is no light on. 5. 目的狀語(yǔ)從句 目的狀語(yǔ)從句中常用情態(tài)動(dòng)詞may (might), can (could) 等，從句往往放在主句之后 I shall write down your telephone number so that I may not forget it. I am saving money in order that I can buy a house. 6. 結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句 A. such + (a/an) + (adj.) + n. + that It is such a big hall that it can hold 3000 people. They are such good students that the teacher likes them. It was such nice weather that we had a picnic. B. so + adj./adv. + that He ran so fast that we couldn’t catch him. C. so + adj. + a/an + n. + that It is so interesting a novel that we all want to read it. D. so + many/much/few/little + n. + that (數(shù)量詞前要用so修飾） He gave us so much homework that it was impossible to finish it. E. We turned up the radio, so that everyone heard the news. (結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句一般不使用情態(tài)動(dòng)詞) 7. 方式狀語(yǔ)從句 A. as, like No one can sing the song as she does. No one can sing the song like her. (informal) No one can sing the song like she does. B. as if/though She treats her sister as though she were a stranger. It looks as though everyone has gone home. 8. 讓步狀語(yǔ)從句 1. though, although 不能與but連用,，但可以與yet或still連用,。though/although意義相同，用法基本一樣,，前者通俗,，口語(yǔ)化，后者正式,，多放主句的前面,。 Although/Though he was over sixty, (yet) he began to learn French. 2. as引出的狀語(yǔ)從句多用于書(shū)面語(yǔ)，它比用though或although引導(dǎo)的從句語(yǔ)氣強(qiáng),，更有表現(xiàn)力,，從句常放在句首,，語(yǔ)序部分倒裝,。 Child as he is, he knows a lot. =Although he is a child, he knows a lot. ?。~前不能有冠詞） Try as he did, he failed. =Although he tried, he failed. 語(yǔ)法操練： 1.
