在外研版初中英語（2012）七年級上冊課本21頁,，有一句話：

Too much chocolate isn’t good for you.

由于這里的chocolate被too much修飾,，且本身沒有加s，所以我們可以判定這個(gè)chocolate是不可數(shù)名詞,。

但是,，在這本書的50頁，有一個(gè)短語：

a box of chocolates

這里的巧克力有s,，顯然是可數(shù)名詞,。

很多學(xué)生對此很困惑，巧克力到底可數(shù)不可數(shù),？

今天我們對這類既可數(shù)又不可數(shù)的名詞進(jìn)行講解,，希望對大家英語學(xué)習(xí)有所幫助。

     先說巧克力,，如果chocolate指的是用可可豆制成的堅(jiān)硬的棕色甜食,，是大塊的巧克力（如下圖所示），就是不可數(shù)名詞,。

其英文解釋是：

Chocolate is a sweet hard food made from cocoa beans. It is usually brown in color and is eaten as a sweet.

如果chocolate指的是巧克力糖,，夾心巧克力糖（通常為盒裝的）時(shí)（如下圖所示），就是可數(shù)名詞,。所以我們常常見到：a box of chocolates的表達(dá),。

其英文解釋是：Chocolates are small sweets or nuts covered with a layer of chocolate. They are usually sold in a box.

英語中還有很多既可數(shù)[C]又不可數(shù)[U]的名詞，同一個(gè)單詞的不同詞義會有可數(shù)和不可數(shù)的區(qū)別,。

簡言之,，詞義使然。
