Spondylolisthesis results when the bone in the lower spine moves forward and out of position.

The lumbar spine is located in the lower back. Five bones called vertebrae make up the lumbar spine. The vertebrae are connected by facet joints and an arch- like structure, the pars interarticularis, or pars for short.
