記不得從哪天開始了,，南京每天不是在下雨，就是在醞釀下雨,。每天出門不到10分鐘,，鞋子褲腳基本全濕了。于是每逢周末,，只能在家看看電影,，或翻翻晴天時(shí)拍下的照片以示懷念。

就像我們見面打招呼會(huì)問“吃飯了嗎,？”,，外國人習(xí)慣用天氣作為開場白,，見面來一句“Beautiful day, isn't it?（天氣真好呀！）”更是尋常不過了,。

于是這一期呢小編就給大家梳理下口語中描述天氣常用的表達(dá),，這樣不管晴天還是雨天，刮風(fēng)還是下雨,，我們都可以用英文暢聊天氣啦,。

1. 最美的不是下雨天

小雨可以用drizzle：When it's drizzling, it's raining lightly. 下毛毛雨；下蒙蒙細(xì)雨
It's just drizzling.
只是毛毛細(xì)雨,。

“下傾盆大雨”可用pour：When rain pours down or when it's pouring (with) rain, rain is falling heavily. 雨傾盆而下,，下大雨
Look, it's pouring outside.
看呀，外面真是大雨傾盆??！

The sudden pouring rain spoiled our enjoyment when we were hiking.

筆者所在的編輯部每逢外面大雨來襲時(shí),，總會(huì)開玩笑地說：“外面又下貓下狗了?！贝斯ｋm老,，但百玩不膩，也算是給工作日的下午增添一絲絲娛樂了,。好了,，言歸正傳，“下貓又下狗”是對“be raining cats and dogs”這個(gè)地道口語表達(dá)簡單粗暴的直譯,，詞組其實(shí)要表達(dá)的意思是“be raining heavily（下大雨）”,。

In the middle of the picnic it started to rain cats and dogs, and everybody got soaked.
在野餐一半時(shí)突然下起傾盆大雨，每個(gè)人都淋成落湯雞,。

順便考一下大家,，雨下得“大”還是“小”用什么詞形容？
答案：heavily／lightly,，從上面的例句中也能看出來啦,。

希望雨變小點(diǎn)，可以這么說：I hope the rain lets up soon.
“l(fā)et up”在這句話中的意思就是“become less strong（減弱,，減輕）”

被雨淋濕了怎么表達(dá)呢？
I was caught in the storm and got completely drenched/soaked.
我遇上了暴雨,，淋得濕透透的,。
這句話中，“drenched”和“soaked”意思是“濕透的”,。

2. 天冷了要加衣

bitterly cold：very cold 非常寒冷
The weather turned bitterly cold.
天轉(zhuǎn)冷了,。

bundle someone up：put warm clothes or coverings on someone 使穿暖和
It's cold outside. Make sure to bundle yourself up.外面很冷,，確保讓自己穿暖和點(diǎn)。

freezing：extremely cold 極冷的
Good grief! It is freezing outside.
乖乖,！外面真是冰天雪地?。?

一般溫度在零度以下時(shí)就可以用“freezing”來描述～

freezing point：the temperature at which water freezes 冰點(diǎn)（也就是零攝氏度,，point可省略）
Temperature will fall below freezing (point) tonight.
今晚溫度將降至零度以下,。

chilly：too cold to be comfortable 寒冷的，陰冷的
It's chilly out there. You should take a sweater.
外面很冷,，你應(yīng)該帶件毛衣,。
chilly是很口語化的一個(gè)詞。

chilled to the bone：very cold 寒氣冷骨
I was chilled to the bone.
這天真是冷到骨子里了,。

4. 晴朗的天氣,，不可多得

The weather was bright and sunny.
天氣很晴朗,。

There's not a cloud in the sky.
天空萬里無云,。

描寫天氣“晴朗”還可以用“clear”：
On a clear night you can see lots of stars.
晴朗的夜里能看到好多星星,。

“fine”也可以用來形容天氣“晴朗”（尤其是在英式英語中）：
If it's fine tomorrow we'll go out.
如果明天天晴，我們就出去,。

不要忘了“fair”也可以描述天氣哦：
It's a fair and breezy day today.
今天風(fēng)和日麗,。

表示“天氣放晴”，可以用動(dòng)詞詞組“clear up”：
I hope it clears up this afternoon.
我希望今天下午天氣放晴,。

5. 驕陽似火的日子,，熱，熱,，熱

boiling hot：very hot 熾熱的,，很熱的
Well, unfortunately, it's boiling hot in here.
好吧，很不幸,，這里熱得跟蒸籠一樣,。

baking (hot)：extremely hot 灼熱的，熾熱的
What a baking hot day!
天真熱吶,！

unbearably hot：熱得讓人受不了
However, in the summer here in Nanjing, the weather gets unbearably hot by the afternoon.

scorching：very hot 酷熱的
It's scorching outside. I prefer to stay at home.
外面熱得烤人,，我寧愿呆在家。

“scorcher”是名詞,，意思是“a very hot day（大熱天）”：
— It sure is a scorcher today. 今天可真熱啊,。
— Sure it is! 沒錯(cuò)。
