Essential Qualities : Inherited or NOT?

An increasing number of experts are beginning to study the people’s personalities. Most people agree that man’s nature at birth is good, which has become the oldest evidence to support that our essential qualities are inherited from parents. However, not everyone becomes a winner. The rising level of crime has become such a sign in present-day society.In my opinion, what kind of person we become depends on our families, educations and social backgrounds, not the genes we inherited from our parents.（點(diǎn)題）

Firstly, what kind of family we born in determines how we grow up. Statistics indicated that the alternatives to traditional nuclear families, such as single parent families and step families, are less satisfactory for the mental health of the children. Even if a child has an optimistic father, the child may easily become pessimistic when the father left or die.

Secondly, what kind of education we receive determines what personalities we acquire. When it comes to education, the majority of people believe that a person’s education is the most important aspect of one’s life. A positive studying environment offers us more opportunities to shape confident, diligent and optimistic characters. The latest survey among 50 sets of twins shows that even twins share the common genes with their sisters or brothers, they do not usually hold the same interests . They get different jobs which linked to their various educations.

Lastly, what kind of social backgrounds we live in determines what kind of person we can finally become. As an old saying goes, the times produce their heros. When we look back tothe American history, heroes jumping into our minds are often those who defy difficulties and dare to explore new ground.Taking the renowned American president Abraham Lincoln for example, he was born into a poor family, but he seized opportunities and accumulated rich experience in politics and finally became president. During his term, Lincoln conquered all obstacles and declared to abolish slavery considering such act is for the sake of the country.

From what is said above, our essential qualities are determined by the families, educations and our social backgrounds.（總結(jié)） Although some investigations point out the important role of genes, there is no denying the fact that the circumstances we grow up in aremore influencial to our qualities-formation. In view of these important impacts, we should learn how to seek goods and avoid disadvantages, it will not only helps strengthen our personalities, but also do benefit for our country and the society.
