Unit 8: Whenis your birthday?

一語法部分：

（一）  基數(shù)詞變序數(shù)詞

我們平時(shí)用的數(shù)詞都是基數(shù)詞,，如年齡,，電話號(hào)碼,，價(jià)格,，數(shù)學(xué)運(yùn)算等,，但是如果用到問生日，問日期等就不能用基數(shù)詞了,，而要用序數(shù)詞,。

序數(shù)詞是由基數(shù)詞變來的，具體變法如下：

1.    基數(shù)詞1,2, 3為特殊變化，分別為：first,second, third.可以縮寫為：1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd,。

2.    基數(shù)詞4-10均在后面加th,但是要注意5,8, 9有變化,，分別為：fourth,fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth.可以縮寫為：4^th, 5^th, 6^th,7^th, 8^th, 9^th, 10^th。

3.    基數(shù)詞11-19均在后面加th,分別為：eleventh,twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth,nineteenth. 可以縮寫為：11^th, 12^th, 13^th,14^th, 15^th, 16^th, 17^th, 18^th,19^th,。

4.    20-90均把y變?yōu)?/span>i,再+eth,分別為：twentieth,thirtieth, fortieth, fiftieth, sixtieth, seventieth, eightieth, ninetieth,可以縮寫為：20^th,30^th, 40^th, 50^th, 60^th, 70^th,80^th, 90^th,。

5.    “幾十幾”的變法：前面十位不變，只變后面的個(gè)位,，即和1-9的變法一樣,，如：21為twenty—first,32為thirty—second,43為forty-third,54為fifty—fourth,65為sixty—fifth,76為seventy—sixth,87為eighty—seventh,98為ninety—eighth,99為ninety—ninth,縮寫為：21^st,32^nd, 43^rd, 54^th, 65^th, 76^th,87^th, 98^th, 99^th。其他依此類推,。

6.    Hundred(百)直接在后面+th,one hundredth, 縮寫為：100^th,。

（二）  日期表達(dá)法

漢語中日期是年+月+日，而英語中的日期則為：日+月+年或月+日+年,。如果用后一種,，則在日和年中間需要加一個(gè)“，”隔開,。如：

1995年5月10日為：

5^thOctober, 1995或

October5^th, 1995

（三）  問生日和日期

1.    When is your birthday?= What’s the date of your birth?

My birthday(It) is on October 11^th, 2002.

2.    When is her birthday?= What’s the date of her birth?

Her birthday(It) is in November, 2003.

試區(qū)別上面兩個(gè)答語,。

（四）  問年齡？

1.    How old…?

2.    What’s sb.’s age?

上面兩個(gè)句子都可以問一個(gè)人的年齡,，答語均為sb.+ be+歲數(shù),。如：

--How old is he?

--He is 13 years old.

--What’s your age?

--I’m 13 years old.

二．詞的用法

1.day與date的區(qū)別

Date指的是具體的日期，即“某年,，某月某日”,，一般用序數(shù)詞，如：15^th(15號(hào)),，而Day指的是具體的“天數(shù)”,，如“一天”aday, “兩天”twodays等.

提問時(shí)句型不同，date問的是“幾月幾號(hào)”,，而day問的是“星期幾”,。如：

--What’s the date today?

--It’s October 14^th.

--What day is it today?

--It is Saturday today.
