不是他們，就是我,，要為這個家庭負(fù)責(zé)任,。（either…or不是…就是，表選擇的連接詞,，連接兩個主語是,，動詞和第二個主語一致。Be responsible for對…負(fù)責(zé).）

③It’s true my mother is old, but she is healthy.

我的母親確實(shí)老了,，但是她很健康,。（.這句話也可以說成：To be sure/Indeed, my mother is old, but she is healthy。 It’s true (that)…,，but;To be sure,…,，but;Indeed,…,but.表示“的確…但是”.）

④She is not only knowledgeable, but also interesting.

她不僅有學(xué)問，而且又風(fēng)趣,。（not only…but also不僅…而且,。這里連接兩個形容詞.）

⑤Some say this, others say that, but I don’t care.

有人這樣說，有人那樣說,，但我不在乎,。（some…others=some…some有些…有些，這句話也可說成：Some say this, and some/others say that, but I don’t care.一般都省略and.）

⑥To say is one thing, to do is another.

說是一回事,，做又是另一回事,。（one thing…another一回事…另一回事，這句話也可說成：To say is one thing, but to do is another.句中的but可以省略,。）

⑦I live in Taipei not because I love the city, but because I am paid well.

我住在臺北,，不是因?yàn)槲覑圻@城市，而是因?yàn)樾剿?。（not because…but because不是因?yàn)椤且驗(yàn)?，連接兩個表原因的從句，修飾live.）

⑧Here we can enjoy both Chinese culture and modern society.

在這里我們可以享有中國文化和現(xiàn)代社會,。（both…and連接連個名詞短語,，做enjoy的賓語,。）

⑨It is neither too hot nor too cold.

天氣既不會太熱，也不會太冷,。（neither…nor既不…也不,，連接兩個形容詞。中國人習(xí)慣說：不冷也不熱,，美國人習(xí)慣將hot放前面.）
