Disney’s world is not just about princes and princesses! Each character revolves around inspiring stories on how people find the good in them. But we can’t ignore that each movie has its best moments with parents and family. As Walt Disney have said, “The most important thing is family”. Mulan

Fa Zhou loved their daughter Mulan as she was. You have to consider the historical setting in the film. He knew Mulan’s troubles in fitting into social norms. She was a beautiful girl but with an outgoing personality that cannot be contained as a regular housewife. They had trouble finding her a suitable husband even with the matchmaker. Fa Zhou knew that Mulan was trying hard to be the ‘best daughter’.

The Little Mermaid

King Triton had his reasons in being so strict and protective of his family. He would give up everything including his trident, just to save his daughter and his people. In the end, it all turned out well and when he saw that Ariel and the prince were truly in love, he said, “Then I guess there’s just one problem left…h(huán)ow much I’m going to miss her.”

You could see right through his eyes how a father would truly miss a daughter who’s getting married. When he sensed that her daughter was happy and safe, he eventually let go and gave his daughter the best hug before her wedding.

Zeus and Hercules

Its hard to measure yourself for having a dad like Zeus. Hercules wanted to make his father proud. In his conquest to be a hero and be accepted by the gods, he learned valuable lessons about love, being himself and protecting family.

His father Zeus told him that “A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the size of his heart.”

King Fergus in Brave

Have you watched the movie? You have just got to love this guy. Behind his big and brave image, he’s funny, loving and always finding humor to lighten things up. We couldn’t stop laughing when he did his impression of Merida in front of his wife.

King Fergus loved her daughter so much and he wasn’t up into following the norms. He taught her how to use the bow and arrow, and how to defend herself. He also showed that he is willing to take the risks in order to keep his daughter happy.

The Good Dinosaur

Although this one is 3D animated, it was produced by both Pixar and Walt Disney. It also has the most heartbreaking moments and some say it might be the saddest animated movie ever. Arlo’s relationship with his father Poppa carries the most tears in its storyline.

The father dinosaur recognized that although his son Arlo had many limitations and mistakes, he also had strengths. He was patient about it and tried to find ways to help his son. He wasn’t imposing limitations and tried to get the best out of him. However, tragedy happened and he had to leave him early. Even at the last moment, he was reassuring his son that everything will be alright.
