Step1: Lead in

(1)Show a basketball. Ask: What’s this?

Ss: It’s a basketball.

T: I have a basketball. Do you have a basketball? (To a student)

S: Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.

T: I like basketball. Do you like basketball?

S: Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.

(2)Take out a banana. Ask: What’s this?

Ss: It’s a banana.

T: I have a banana. I like bananas.Do you like bananas? (To a student)

S: Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.

(3) Tell the Ss that we are going to learn Unit6 Do you like bananas?

Step2: Presentation

(1).Show some pictures of food in this lesson one by one and teach the new words by using the patterns:

Ask Ss to pay attention to the plural forms of these new words.

(2)Practice: 1a

Read the words one by one.

Ask Ss to match the words with the things in the picture.Then check the answers.

Ask the Ss to read the sentence patterns.

(4)Activity 1b:

Listen and number the conversations.

Check the answer.Let the Ss repeat the conversations after the teacher.

(5)Pair work: Show a picture of some food.Ask Ss to practise the sentence pattern.

 I know a boy. His name is John. John’s birthday is next week. So his friend is preparing a birthday for his birthday. But they don’t want John to know it. Let students to read the passage and find the answers “What food does John like?”. “Does John like hamburgers?” The third step, let them read after the tapes. Then, I will help them to translate the passage. And Divide the whole class into 2 groups and let them read the passages.
