Job Description

The Software Development Manager role at Agoda is an integral piece of the development team.  Successful candidates will be responsible for all day-to-day development activities within their team.  This position will be accountable for the delivery of projects to the agreed specification, quality, cost & timescales within the forecasted timeframe.  Additionally, the candidate will need to effectively manage projects and co-ordinate with multiple teams to achieve stretch performance targets.  The candidate is expected to be the key technologist and capable of elevating the overall performance and competency of the team. 

Experience

• 7+ years application development experience
• 5+ years of .Net development experience
• 3+ years leading/managing development teams
• Experience developing Object-oriented solutions
• Solid MS SQL Server or similar development experience

Education

Candidate should have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Skills/Abilities

• Must come from a commercial software development background with knowledge of the structured project process, commercial and product architecture and technology strategy
• Strong track record of managing teams of technology staff, with excellent communication and team building skills
• Proven experience of managing large complex development projects
• Advanced technical skills, in one or more of the following technologies (.NET, ASP.NET, MS SQL Server) and application design
• Ability to deliver high quality and efficient solutions within tight deadlines
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong time management skills
• Self-motivated, result-oriented personality who works well under pressure
• Strong analysis, problem solving and programming skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and commit to the agreed deliverables and schedules once targets and goals have been assigned
• Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment
• Excellent communication skills and willing to learn non-technical business and industry knowledge
• Coding using best practices, such as integration, performance, and security, following Microsoft Best Practices
• Strong English, in speaking, reading and writing – must be able to communicate in English and be willing to improve
• Visual Studio 2008 (.NET Framework 3.5)
• ASP.Net using C# (VB.Net considered) and JavaScript
• Stored Procedure development in MS SQL Server or Sybase
• Standard-based web services development including the following technologies: XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, WS-Security, SAML, XML Schemas, XPath
• Knowledge of NUnit, NAnt, and NDocs preferred but not required
• MCP or similar certifications

• Experience creating secured information applications
