當(dāng)在Windows 2003 server上安裝 Windows Live Mail/Messenger/Writer 等時,程序會提示"很抱歉,Windows Live 程序不能安裝在 Windows Server,windows xp Professional x64 Edition或早于windows xp service pack 2的windows 操作系統(tǒng)上",，這句話將很多想在Windows 2003 server上使用Windows Live系列軟件的朋友拒之門外,。很多人為此放棄了Windows Live系列軟件,，或者放棄了Windows 2003 Server操作系統(tǒng),。有一種魚與熊掌不可兼得的感覺，今天水寒就告訴你怎么魚與熊掌兼得的辦法,。

　　原因分析：在安裝WLinstaller.exe時，WLinstaller安裝程序會首先檢測操作系統(tǒng)類型,，如果檢測到你是 Windows Server系列操作系統(tǒng)就阻止你的安裝,。原因很簡單：微軟一看你在服務(wù)器版操作系統(tǒng)上使用Live Mail 或者MSN，一看十有八九你這是盜版軟件,，如果真的在正版的Windows 2003 Server上使用,，那這臺機子也很可能是服務(wù)器，那么用這幾個軟件會給服務(wù)器帶來極大的安全隱患,，所以這個也不能怪微軟,。

　　解決辦法：大家有個共識，下載的WLinstaller.exe大小比較小才2兆左右,，你想想Live系列軟件三個咱么會才這么小呢,？而且安裝需要連網(wǎng)進行，安裝的過程中安裝程序會讓你選擇你想安裝的軟件（如下圖1所示）,，想想肯定是安裝過程中下載的Windows live Mail/Messenger/Writer安裝程序,。經(jīng)過驗證WLinstaller.exe實際確實只是一個下載器，并不是安裝程序,，只要找到WLinstaller.exe下載的Windows live Mail/Messenger/Writer安裝程序,，我們就可以安裝他們了。經(jīng)過測試真實的安裝程序是可以安裝在Windows server 2003上的,，那么如何得到該真實的安裝程序呢,？具體做法如下：

1. 找一個安裝了windows xp sp2或以上的客戶版操作系統(tǒng)（如：windows XP或者Windows vista）。
2. 下載最新的下載器WLinstaller.exe（點這兒下載中文最新版,，查看:http://get./WL/desktop） ,。
3. 在Windows XP或者Windows Vista操作系統(tǒng)上運行下載的WLinstaller.exe并選擇需要安裝的功能。見圖1所示：

4. 安裝完成后在C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources 下可以找到你選擇功能所需要的真實的安裝程序,，如圖2所示,，將此文件拷貝到windows server 2003 中就可以進行安裝了。
   
   
    

　　事實證明：WLinstaller.exe就是僅僅一個下載器而已,，真正安裝的是下載下來的.msi文件,，所以通過這種辦法安裝的文件與采用下載器安裝的文件完全一樣！

Damned straight, isn’t it? But since we are hard core of geek fun, here is how to circumvent the restriction.

1. Find an Windows XP machine (WMWare if I say) and install WLW using the downloaded installer (WLInstaller.exe)
2. Copy C:\Program Files\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources\Install_{9176251A-4CC1-4DDB-B343-B487195EB397}.msi to your Windows Server 2003 machine
3. Double click the msi and finish installation

It turns out that the downloaded WLInstaller.exe is just a loader and gate keeper so all we need to do is to grab the real msi.
